Musical Chairs 2017

    5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Orchestras For All invites you to its third year of Musical Chairs!

TIMINGS OF THE DAY:

CONCERT: 4pm

CEILIDH: 6pm

Participants have been signing up since September to play alongside members of the National Orchestra for All for a day – some playing brand new instruments and others playing instruments they haven’t played for years! Since then they’ve been busy practicing and raising sponsorship to support the work of Orchestras for All.

Musical Chairs will take place at Cecil Sharp House, 2 Regent’s Park Road, London, NW1 7AY where all our participants will join together and spend a day working with our team of professional music tutors and alongside a young member of our innovative National Orchestra for All, working of pieces from two great ballets, Stravinsky’s Firebird and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.

You are invited to join us for a free performance at the end of the day to see our generous supporters in action. The performance will be followed by a well-earned glass of  prosecco and ceilidh!

Our Musical Chairs event raises money to help young people access the life-changing experience of playing music with others. We believe that music is a powerful tool to help improve a child’s quality of life – particularly children who are already facing challenging circumstances, whether that is due to personal or socio-economic barriers. All of the money raised through Musical Chairs will be used to offer opportunities to help enrich the lives of more young musicians across the country – and the dance music they’ll be playing during the day will help us get in the mood for the 2017-2018 season starting in July 2017, Music and Dance: The Rhythm of Life, giving our young members the chance to explore the links between music and dance.

Please come along and support our musicians and help us raise money for a very worthwhile cause!
