Painters of Sound: The Colour of Music

The new NOFA season kicks off with our sixth annual Summer Course at the University of Leeds with finale concert at the First Direct Arena in Leeds – this year with a programme exploring the relationship between art and music. Join our 95 dedicated young musicians, this year from all four nations of the UK, as they perform onstage with live artwork created by visual artist Somang Lee.

Sunday from Sunday in the Park with George – Stephen Sondheim arr. Danyal Dhondy – featuring artwork by Daria Wallace and support from singers from Leeds Youth Opera, Leeds Schools Choir and Leeds Youth Choir

Pictures at an Exhibition – Mussorgsky arr. Simon Tong – featuring artwork from kinetic artist Norman Perryman

The Firebird – Stravinsky arr. Richard Turner – featuring live artwork created onstage by visual artist Somang Lee

Triptych – Nathan Theodoulou, Danyal Dhondy and NOFA young composer Jade McCarthy
